I would call this an earthy floral because it's not overbearingly sweet. The only thing I spend BIG money on is perfume and regardless of what brand you prefer (with the exception of Aromatics Elixir by Clinique, a delightful daytime fragrance that lasts and lasts) you get what you pay for. Eau de Toilettes will have you in the bathroom touching up your fragrances! Although Molinard de Molinard (and the House of Molinard has other lucious fragrances now) was first out in 1929 this is TIMELESS & ELEGANT; I could've categorized it as "formal" just as easily as evening, but I'm only 45 and have been wearing it over 20 years so pay no mind to that 1929 date - as far as I'm concerned, back in the '20s, those women they called Flappers probably wore this fragrance as they look like a fun loving, edgy-for-their-time kinda women and I'd love to have been 40 back then!

I have used Molinard for 25 years and I hope it never goes away. I started using this fragrance when I had difficulty finding "Infini" which I had used before. I love the old romantic french fragrances.
